I have been able to access www.hi5.com until about 2 days ago from my PC, but now i cannot. I can access it from the library, but not from my PC or any other PC on my home network, so the problem may be with my ISP (ntl broadband) or could hi5 have blocked my IP address for some reason? Any one else on ntl broadband have the same problem?
I cannot open www.hi5.com on my computer, why?
Until NTL stop blocking hi5, you can use a 3rd party proxy server to see hi5 pages. A list of free proxy servers can be found at:
http://tools.rosinstrument.com/cgi-bin/f...
The part after the ":" is the port numbr, eg for:
supercache6.qualitynet.net:80
The port number is 80.
In Internet Explorer, from the top menu, go: Tools %26gt; Internet Options %26gt; Connections %26gt; LAN Settings
Tick "Use a proxy server...", then paste in the proxy server address minus the port number, then put the port number in the "Port:" field.
Try different proxy servers, some work for hi5 and some do not.
When you find one that works, I suggest you use it only for viewing hi5 and turn it off for normal browsing (by un-ticking the "Use a proxy server..." box) to limit security risk issues.
Reply:if the case is of your ip being blocked by hi5.com for some reason, then try using proxy servers
Reply:I'm also using ntl broadband, and I'm currently experiencing the same problem (for about 2 days.) I receive notification via my hotmail address that I have new emails in my hi5 account, but whenever I try to access the site I get ( Cannot find the server) message. anyone with solution?
Reply:same here im with ntl and hi5 is not loading, i think they have block hi5!

Reply:Hi Peeps, this is a problem with NTL Broadband, it has been reported and they are looking into this. but what do we do in the meantime huh !
Reply:I am having the same problem, using ntl broadband.
I believe my IP could have been blocked, or it could just be ntl, like one time Google wasn't working or any of the other search engines. They were blocked by ntl for a day or so, by accident.
If you really want to use hi5, use a proxy like hidemyass.com that will allow you to view the site and login. But be warned the connection will not be secure. As someone elses computer/server will be access the site for you, and your password could be revealed.
Are you from leicester?
Reply:I just want to know the answer for the question above
Reply:I have ntl broadband as well, i have the same problem for about 4 days. I send a complaint to ntl via email but it seems they have a lot of mails coming and they can't answer very quickly, so after christmas i am considering to phone them. Cause i think its ntl.It can't be so many people with the same problem. It must be something with ntl.
Reply:have never ussed hi5 but still cant access it
